DNC 8 Profile of a Peaceful Protest
Today's anti-abortion protest at the gate to the Pepsi Center perimeter was peaceful and orderly, thanks to preparation by both police and protesters. As I spent time editing these clips, I felt pride in America's Constitutional protection of freedom of speech and freedom of assembly, along with common sense limits to such freedoms such as not permitting protesters to block others from getting where they want to go on public ways. This event would have looked a lot different in China, and I probably would not have been allowed to video it.
