52 On Penobscot Bay

This past weekend my wife and I drove to Rockport, Maine, for a sail with Bonnie Schmidt and Twig Bower aboard their classic wooden schooner, Heron, a 65-foot Marconi rig built by Twig himself. Our fellow passengers were Kaaren and Gary Frantzen of Chicago, celebrating a delayed honeymoon. It was a great day for a sail on Penobscot Bay, because the wind was pretty stiff, so there was lots of motion and good speed.
