26 The iPhone's Big Test
Sure, I love it. I am a long-time gadget hound, and I thought it was sane to head over to the Cambridge, Mass., Apple store at 3 a.m. on June 29th to be first in line. But what about my wife, the quilter? I bought two, thinking she would probably want one, but in truth I wasn't sure until this morning when she took mine for a test drive. Hint: one of the best parts of this episode is after the credits.

On a purely personal note, this is one of my favourite podcasts so far. I want one! I'm just not keen on ATT.
Neat to see video of someone actually using it. I've looked at some of the stuff on the Apple website, but it's hard to get a feel for how it really operates from looking at that.
How long do the batteries last?
How long do the batteries last?
On Monday I left Cambridge with a full charge on the iPhone, maybe made a few calls before the flight to Denver, used it steadily for maybe three hours on flight-reading old e-mails, watching video podcasts, practicing with keyboard, etc. By 7 pm Eastern time battery had 20 percent left, prompting warning of low-battery. So the battery life is not great, but probably about the same as Motorola Q I had before.
That was great. Really great. Reminded me of the videos I shoot with Carol. It was really interesting to see video of someone using the phone for the first time.
You sure do have colorful furniture and a cute dog....
Enjoy the phone.

Gadget head maybe you are, but a quilter she is! For some reason it struck me, what a beautiful quilt theme for a lap quilt - iPhone!
I kept wondering "what would Len do, if his wife did not want the phone. I'd imagine he would have a lot of takers wanting to buy it!"
