8 Serving God's Time
Steve Gabriel of Colorado Springs talks about his work as a Kairos Prison Ministries volunteer. I interviewed Steve this weekend after we had both completed our annual update volunteer training put on by the Colorado Department of Corrections. Approximately 1,800 people volunteer in the state's prisons, most of them through faith-based programs such as Kairos, but also a good number of volunteers who put on AA meetings in the prisons, which is why I took the training. As Steve explained, the volunteers get at least as much out of the experience as they give.
