So Much Skin in the Game

My cousin, Jim Edgerly, talks about his moment of truth as CEO of Orion Ropeworks in Maine, the night he decided that failure was not an option. "I had so much skin in the game," he says in this podcast. Amazingly, Orion succeeded and Jim sold the company last year. I learned a lot about what it takes to be a turnaround risk-taker from talking with him today. Hearing how on some mornings Jim worried where he would find money to make payroll that afternoon, I was amazed to learn that he is looking for his NEXT opportunity to take on the thrill of a risky business.
